Protx, the secure online payment service for credit card processing and PayPal, the world's leading online payment system, today announced a partnership which means Protx customers can now offer PayPal as an additional payment method.

The deal means that Protx's 17,000 online merchants will benefit from integrating PayPal Express Checkout onto their websites as an additional way for their customers to pay securely and efficiently. Furthermore, Protx - a division of Sage (UK) Limited - is providing merchants with the ability to drive incremental sales* and increase online conversions with PayPal**.

Simon Black, Managing Director of Protx comments: "This partnership will benefit our merchants by making the managing and tracking of online-orders even more straightforward, as well as giving their customers more choice in how they want to purchase goods over the web. We have tested the service with both new and existing customers, who have found the service extremely easy to set-up, as no integration work is required. As a business we want to provide functionally rich payment solutions for our customers at highly competitive rates. This is why we are offering our merchants PayPal Express Checkout at no extra cost."

Protx merchants will be able to simply switch this payment option on and off their payment pages whenever they want. When activated, PayPal transactions will appear along side other web-orders within the Protx reporting tool making tracking web-orders even more straightforward.

Claire Lettice, from Muddycook.co.uk says, "Previously we had customers requesting us to accept PayPal so to have it as part of our Protx service was especially appealing. We have only offered it as a payment type for ten days and already our customers are making use of it. It is a great value for money proposition from Protx."

Cameron McLean, General Manager Merchant Services at PayPal, comments: "This partnership is an ideal match for PayPal. Protx provides secure online credit card and debit card payment solutions and with PayPal its customers can keep their financial details secure and choose whether to fund the transaction either directly from a bank account or from a credit card.

"Online consumers prefer to pay with PayPal***, so by adding PayPal Express Checkout merchants should see a notable increase in their conversions."
