Branching out

Branching out

Source: Misys Banking Systems, Arab Bangladesh Bank

Arab Bangladesh Bank's search for a new branch automation system that could service both corporate and retail customers across its network of 65 outlets culminated in the selection of technology from incumbent core banking system supplier Misys Banking Systems.

The bank's team evaluated several solutions from vendors and settled on Misys Equation with the Branch Automation module and an interface to its automated trade finance system, Misys Trade Innovation.

By deploying a centralised system, fully integrated with Misys Equation, the bank has made efficiency gains and enabled branch staff to provide new services to its customers. These include more over-the-counter transactions, online balance checking at the branch ATMs, instant signature and photograph verification and faster operations around foreign exchange and travellers' cheques.
