Good work. I would point out that it is also not audience size, but the quality of the audience & their influence. Finextra is a winner there.
I'm proud to see over 600k reads in my own blog stats.

Just to give you a little perspective, one of my tweets the other day reached +150K readers & another 180K. Consequently it would seem, social networking was solely responsible for a site I launched earlier in the year without fanfare or promotion quietly accumulating hits until we made an 'announcement'. Subsequently we had over 1 million hits between Oct1st & Nov 26.

It is important to actually deliver good content like Finextra does and make no mistake, social media can certainly get eyes on pages (& bums in squares, & Presidential candidates on the phone;)

The power of social media is immense. So soon we can phps say - if it does not fly on Facebook first - it will not break through elsewhere...

Hi Bo, I'm not too sure about the fb reference being so important. One example I know closely has twitter & fb. The fb is an afterthought. A google search returns 284,000,000 results for the brand name, 3 months from launch. By comparison Barack Obama gets only 259,000,000. Data suggests it was not driven by fb.

The 'sub-brand', which has been the focus of the 3 month campaign, returns 896,000,000 results. These are 'brand names' which had to all intents never been heard of prior.

The FB reference is more related to launching netservices - like election aids and new e-commerce solutions meant for global markets.
