HSBC is doing its bit for international relations at this year's Sibos in Hong Kong by sending out a handy wallet-sized Cantonese phrase card to all delegates attending the international banking convention.

Sadly, this inspired marketing ploy has been let down somewhat by including only two useful phrases, 'Good morning' and 'please/thank you'. Then again, should you need to know how to recite the address of the HSBC main branch in Hong Kong then this card will prove indispensible.

The HSBC email sent me scurrying off to the Web in search of more user-friendly Sibos-related jargon, such as 'two beers please' and 'Dude, where'e my brain?'.

On YouTube, I stumbled across a video promising to teach me 'how to count to ten in Mandarin'. I pressed the play button and to my surpise was greeted with a fleeting glimpse of someone bearing a distinct resemblance to the notorious 419 scammer, Prince Obi Matumbe Akumbe -  immortalised in this Community recently by fellow blogger Matt White - as he handed the camera over to his accomplice.

Are they by any chance related?
