Aconite works with Link on EMV certification

The UK's Link Interchange Network (Link) has selected smart card consultancy and solutions provider Acconite to deliver a new certification process for chip card acceptance at ATMs.

Acconite says the global migration to smart cards and the national UK implementation of chip and PIN authentication at point of sale is driving financial firms to provide PIN-related services, including the ability to change PINs, through the Link ATM network.

The vendor has worked with Link to define the strategy, script the tests and publish a standard for its 50 member banks and to provide ongoing support.

Jim Nix, general manager operations at Link says: "It was clear that a new standard way of proving systems was needed for EMV migration and PIN services to be uniform and consistent for all our members."
