Reuters Japan has launched ReutersMobile, a new financial information service delivered to mobile phones.

ReutersMobile enables users to access Reuters Japanese language news and real time financial information, including foreign exchange, stock prices, indices and commodities data. The data includes stock prices from the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Osaka Securities Exchange and Jasdaq; statistical information such as ranking; major world indices; spot and cross rates of major currencies; financial and commodity futures.

The service also features a "Limit Minder" function so that users can receive an e-mail when the rate exceeds a set limit.

ReutersMobile is initially targeted for financial market professionals and is available to the users of NTT Docomo's i-mode all over Japan. The standard monthly charge is Y7000 per ID and discounted rates are applicable for bulk orders.

Richard Pascoe, president of Reuters Japan, says: "This is the first of many branded Reuters services to be made available over Internet phones in Japan."
