Cyota secures First USA in Verified by Visa initiative

First USA, the credit card issuing subsidiary of Bank One, is using technology from Cyota to implement the Verified by Visa programme and offer consumers improved security when shopping online.

The bank, one of the largest Visa issuers in the world, has implemented a hosted version of Cyota's SecureVbV product so as to speed time to market and minimise integration impact. It follows in the footsteps of Bank of America, which in December became the first US bank to offer consumers the new Visa authentication programme.

Verified by Visa (3D Secure) authenticates cardholders through a password and produces online purchase receipts for their approval.

"Cardmember security is a priority for us," says Hugh Bleemer, executive vice president eBusiness for First USA. “Cyota understands the credit card industry and its security platform and expertise provide us with an array of turnkey solutions for our cardmembers.”

SecureVbV is part of Cyota SecureSuite, an integrated online payment security platform designed to integrate a range of authentication and credit card security products including Verified by Visa, MasterCard SPA and Cyota’s own disposable number solution, Cyota SecureClick into a single user experience.
