Intesa Sanpaolo is introducing a pre-paid contactless card designed for tourists taking part in the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Italy's unification.

The MasterCard PayPass cards, using technology from Gemalto, enable holders to make low value payments at the point of sale and can also be used on Turin's public transport network.

In addition, the bank is offering discounts on access to museums and cultural events in Turin and other cultural capitals through the cards.

Gabrielle Bugat, SVP, Gemalto, says: "TheCarta Esperienza Italia 150 brings tourists increased trust and convenience, with a host of applications combined in a contactless prepaid card."
