Fed Reserve computer hacker pleads guilty

A Malaysian man has pleaded guilty to possessing stolen payment card numbers and admitted hacking into the Federal Reserve's computer network.

Thirty-two year old Lin Mun Poo was arrested in New York In October shortly after arriving at JFK Airport with a laptop holding more than 400,000 stolen credit and debit card numbers.

According to Bloomberg, Poo has pleaded guilty to one fraud count relating to the data theft, which prosecutors say he obtained by hacking the systems of various credit unions.

He has also admitted to breaching the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's network and planting malicious software.

The crook faces a maximum of ten years in jail when sentenced in September.
