An Australian man accused of infecting over 3000 computers with malware designed to steal banking and credit card details has pleaded guilty, according to local reports.
Anthony Scott Harrison, 20 was arrested last August following a three-month investigation by electronic crime units from SA Police and the Australian Federal force.
Alongside the malware accusations, he is alleged to have developed capabilities to launch Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks with up to 74,000 computers worldwide.
Harrison has now pleaded guilty in District Court in Adelaide to four counts of modifying computer data to cause harm or inconvenience, two counts of possessing or controlling data to commit a serious computer offence and one count of dishonestly manipulating a machine for his own benefit.
He has been remanded on bail for sentencing submissions in September.
