Bank Leumi introduces biometric password re-sets for online banking

Israel's Bank Leumi is introducing a password re-set feature for online banking customers that is operated by voice biometrics.

The new system, supplied by Verint spin-off PerSay, enables customers to reset their e-banking passwords at any time of the day or night. It replaces a costly and inconvenient manual questioning routine, says the vendor, and eliminates the need to wait for a live agent

Ariel Freidenberg, EVP global sales & business development at PerSay comments: "The "color of my cat" and "my wife's maiden name" are questions that belong to the past. Looking forward, we see more and more financial institutions and other service providers, adopting voice biometrics as an essential element in their security and risk management procedures."

Interesting, I post a comment that shows the flaws in this supposed biometric solution and it gets deleted.  Is this site merely a shill site or does it fairly report true stories and comments?

According to our back-end admin system you did indeed post an earlier comment. However, you neglected to press the submit button to make it live on the site. If you log back in I think you'll find it's still there.
