Dutch banking group Rabobank has launched Bizner Bank, an Internet banking service designed specifically for small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) in the Netherlands.

The bank contracted with Belgium-based vendor Callataÿ & Wouters (C&W) for the supply and implementation of banking technology to support the new service.

The vendor's Thaler banking software was selected as the basis of the specialised Web banking service, which was launched in just nine months. The platform was modified for the local market, says C&W.

Rabobank also used the C&W technology to launch its virtual banking services in Belgium, Ireland and New Zealand.
