Former Nyfix chief executive Robert Gasser has joined agency brokerage and tech firm Investment Technology Group as CEO and president.

Gasser takes over the helm from 69-year old Ray Killian, who will continue as chairman of the company he founded in 1987.

Gasser, 41, recently stepped down as CEO of Nyfix, the trading technology vendor which earlier this month secured a $75 million cash infusion from private equity house Warburg Pincus following a major overhaul of the business.

Before Nyfix, Gasser was head of US equity trading at JP Morgan.
