Randich quits Nasdaq for Citigroup

US electronic securities market Nasdaq says Steve Randich, its executive vice president of operations & technology and chief information officer, is leaving the exchange to take up a similar post with Citigroup.

In a statement, Nasdaq says Randich will leave on 9 December to join Citigroup as chief information officer, corporate and investment banking - filling a position left vacant by the departure of Tom Sanzone to Credit Suisse in August.

Nasdaq senior vice president Anna Ewing will take on Randich's responsibilities.

Randich joined the exchange in 2000 as chief technology officer and a year later was appointed chief information officer, responsible for all technology development and data centre and network operations.

Prior to joining Nasdaq, Randich was EVP and CIO of the Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) where he was responsible for all technology, trading floor and back office operations and business product planning and development.
