UK building society Nationwide has signed a 10-year contract with BT for the supply of managed voice and data services.
Under the terms of the contract, BT will deliver increased bandwidth to Nationwide's branch and ATM infrastructure, supporting 15,000 employees and 3000 locations across the UK. The system will also support Nationwide's roll out of customer relationship management (CRM) and intranet applications to employees.
BT will also provide disaster recovery, videoconferencing and voice services as well as managed services and support for Nationwide's call centres, admin centres and remote workers.
Arthur Amos, head of technology support, Nationwide, say the agreement "strengthens our position to streamlining the supply and maintenance of our Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure".
"As we migrate to new and emerging technologies, we will benefit from greater flexibility, reduced overheads and improved service," adds Amos.
