UK bank Abbey has gone live Brown Brothers Harriman's (BBH) hosted connectivity platform, Infomediary, at its invesment management operations.
Abbey is using Infomediary to collect trade instructions from external sub-advisors, which are then fed into an internal accounting system.
The bank has installed the platform to support its move away from in-house fund management and towards external multi-management.
Gordon Wood, chief operating officer at Abbey National Asset Managers, says: "We are confident that Infomediary will allow us to communicate efficiently with our external managers while allowing us to remain in full control of our operations."
BBH says Infomediary enables investment managers, transfer agents, and other financial services firms to selectively outsource certain functions instead of the full back-office.
