The UK's Barclays Bank has licensed the corporate account and deposit applications from TietoEnator's PBS core banking suite.

This latest contract expands an existing agreement between the UK bank and the Nordic vendor for related applications and services.

TietoEnator says Barclays will use the software to reduce the time-to-market for new products and lower operating costs under its 'customer liquidity management programme'.

Michael Vallance, product director, business deposits & liquidity management in business banking in Barclays, comments: "These solutions are modern and well proven and will help drive achievement of our business strategy, and ultimately our goal to increase shareholder value."
