The first 500,000 Santander customers who register between 17 April and 31 May will get a bonus of up to £3(1). The bank is offering, £1 when customers register, £1 when they make their first Paym payment and £1 when they receive the first Paym payment.

Andy Smith, Head of Media Relations, Santander UK said: "Mobile to mobile payments provide customers with an easy alternative way to pay friends and family, like those awkward moments at the end of a meal when you come to split the bill or want to pay a friend the money you owe them but forgot to get cash out. We're offering our customers up to £3 for registering their mobile number with us for this new service which, from the 29th April, will enable them to make a payment to friends using our mobile banking app and without the need to ask for account numbers and sort codes."

To register your current account for Paym (to receive money) with Santander, simply visit online banking, log-in and follow-the on screen instructions. To send money using Paym when the service launches on 29 April, get the Santander mobile banking app from www.santander.co.uk/gettheapp.
