Google launches credit card for buying AdWords

Google has entered the credit market, launching a card in the UK that small businesses can use to buy its AdWords search advertising.

The search giant says its AdWords Business Credit card - powered by Barclaycard - will make it easier for firms to pay for, and track, their advertising.

The UK launch comes after a pilot in the US, begun last July, involving more than 1400 businesses. Google says that a survey of participants found that 74% now use the car as their primary form of AdWords payment.

The card will have a variable 11.9% APR representative in the UK and an 8.99% rate in the US, when it launches there later in the month working with Comenity Capital Bank.

Last week another Web giant, Amazon, began offering loans to independent sellers that use its platform and are in need of credit.
