ATM gives away free money, as long as you promise to share it

A friendly ATM has been doing its best to bring cheer to hard-up Spaniards, dispensing free money on the condition that the lucky recipients promise to share their windfall.

The ATM - or 'happiness dispenser' - has been making its way around the streets of recession-hit Spain for a publicity stunt from fizzy drinks giant Coca-Cola.

In a video posted on Vimeo, picked up by Gizmodo, Coke tells viewers that 'In the age of "bad banks" we bring you the happiness dispenser'.

Hidden cameras then show passers-by lured in by the machine, with its screen displaying the enticing message: 'Get 100 euros. Without a card'. If someone presses the 'yes' button, the ATM adds: 'But only if you agree to share it'.

If the challenge is accepted, people are asked if they want any tips on how to split their cash, with Coke offering up ideas such as: 'Hand out free nappies to pregnant women'.

If the person agrees, the machine dispenses EUR100 in an envelope and the camera tracks the people as they make good on their pledge to share their windfall.
