BitPay integrates Bitcoin with Fulfillment-by-Amazon

BitPay, the world's leading payment processor for bitcoin payments, announces that it has integrated its service with Amazon.com's Fulfillment-by-Amazon (FBA) web service.

This is the first move into large-scale eCommerce for companies wishing to accept payments over the bitcoin peer-to-peer payment network.

Fulfillment-by-Amazon allows a seller with inventory in Amazon's warehouses to sell the items on the seller's own website, and have Amazon fulfill and ship the order. Products sold through FBA are eligible for Amazon Prime and FREE Super Saver Shipping. The service from BitPay and Amazon is available to Amazon sellers in the USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

Coin Publishing LLC, the operators behind Bitcoin Magazine, have been using this new feature from BitPay for several weeks now, and they are extremely happy with the performance.

"Adding BitPay's plugin to our webstore, which is based on WordPress, has dramatically improved our logistics," says Mihai Alisie, Editor-in-Chief of Bitcoin Magazine. "When orders get paid through BitPay, Amazon's servers are automatically notified, and our admin screen is updated with the correct status. PayPal does not offer the same service that BitPay can, so we have to manually process any orders which are paid through PayPal."

BitPay's integration with Amazon currently works with WordPress.com, the world's most popular web publishing software, and WooCommerce, a comprehensive eCommerce platform for WordPress. BitPay plans to add the Amazon integration into other shopping cart platforms in the near future.

BitPay recently added to their seed round of funding and is currently hiring software engineers and sales staff for its Atlanta headquarters, located in the Atlanta Tech Village.
