CLS Group (CLS), the market infrastructure that enhances financial stability by providing risk mitigation services to the global FX market, today announced that Alexander Filshie has been appointed Chief Financial Officer.

He joins the Executive Management Committee and reports to David Puth, Chief Executive Officer of CLS.

Scheduled to begin on February 6, 2013, Mr. Filshie will be based in London.

Mr. Filshie joins CLS from American Express, where he was the International Financial Controller for Europe, Middle East, Asia, Canada and Latin America. Previously, he was American Express' Regional Financial Controller for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He also served as a Director on the Board of American Express International Inc.

Prior to American Express, Mr. Filshie worked at Barclays as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy for Africa and the Middle East. He also worked for Standard Chartered in a number of finance functions and began his career at Deloitte Haskins & Sells. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a Member of the Institute of Directors.

"Alexander's broad experience as a senior finance professional makes him the logical choice to be the CFO of CLS," Mr. Puth said. "With his track record of delivering financial leadership in the global banking and finance industry, Alexander will play an important role as CLS continues to meet the needs of an evolving FX marketplace."

Mr. Filshie added: "I am extremely pleased to be joining CLS, an infrastructure of fundamental importance to the FX industry. I look forward to working with David and the team to support the future development of CLS."
