Chase today re-opened at least 587 branches in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut less than 24 hours after Hurricane Sandy swept through the area. That's 55% of the company's total in the Tri-State region.

"Our employees have done simply heroic things to get more than half of our branches open today," said Ryan McInerney, CEO of Chase's Consumer Bank. "We stand ready to help our customers in any way we can -- on everything from banking needs to using our branches to charge cell phones. The Tri-State is home to many of us, too, and we are here to help."

Nearly 60% of Chase's 3,200 area ATMs are already running. Customers can use the Chase Mobile App or visit chase.com to check https://locator.chase.com/ for details on branches in the market.

Chase announced last night it will extend its fee waivers for our customers in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia through Thursday, November 1st.

Those fees include:

Overdraft Protection Transfer, Extended Overdraft, Returned Item and Insufficient Funds Fees for deposit accounts.
Late fees on credit cards, business and consumer loans, including mortgages, home-equity, auto and student loans.

Customers also can use:

QuickDeposit - take picture of a check on a smartphone to deposit it
QuickPay - make an online payment to another consumer
Online billpay - Pay merchants
24-hour telephone banking
Chase.com - a full range of online banking
Chase Mobile App - banking from anywhere, even when electricity isn't available
