Ingenico launches H24 mobile app in Spain

Ingenico (Euronext : FR0000125346 - ING), leading worldwide provider of payment solutions, today announces the launch of an innovative mobile application in Spain.

The service offering ranges from the geolocation of the network's 5,300 service stations in Spain to planning car journeys and blocking the H24 cards. Close to one million H24 cards were issued in 2011, with H24 being the multibrand network owned by Ingenico.

The mobile app will be available free-of-charge in Android Market and in Apple Stores for both Smartphones and tablets. It is designed so that anyone who downloads the application can use it on their mobile phone to plan travel itineraries, geolocate petrol stations and detect speed cameras, among other functions.

2011 saw a spectacular rise in the number of cards issued under the H24 brand. Consequently, at Ingenico, we have decided to offer cardholders a mobile app that combines easy journey planning with managing and monitoring card expenditure", said José Luis Arias, Managing Director of Ingenico Iberia.

A truly useful application
The new app offers information about the 5,300 H24 multibrand service stations - including Galp, BP and Shell stations - that belong to the H24 network (link in Spanish). Users can also optimise their travel experience by using the route planner. In this case, the app generates a recommended route and also lists H24 petrol stations and alerts drivers about fixed speed cameras. A warning sound alerts drivers when they are less than 500m away from a speed camera. It also offers a route finder in which the user sets the starting point and destination, without needing to quit the app.

The H24 card is aimed at companies that have their own car and small utility vehicle fleets. Service users will be able to monitor the latest card activity directly from the Smartphone and even immediately block the card if it is lost or stolen.

Apart from providing a host of practical information for travellers, the mobile app has been designed to help H24 cardholders, as it enables them to quickly and securely access information about their cards. The user simply logs in to find out about all the latest card activity, including transaction dates (date, amount and service station). Finally, holders can also quickly and simply cancel cards.
The app was developed by Mobivery.
