The Sofgen group, an international banking IT consulting firm, is pleased to announce the successful "go-live" at Tropical Bank Limited, Uganda, of Harland Financial Solution's CreditQuest, a comprehensive end-to-end credit risk management system.

When Tropical Bank identified the need to automate its credit processes, detailed analysis of major credit risk management applications in use across sub-Saharan Africa was undertaken. The evaluation included numerous site visits and culminated in the selection of CreditQuest as the best fit to Tropical Bank's requirements.

"We sought to implement a single, comprehensive, unified software and database solution to manage the whole Credit Risk Management process which in turn would reduce the bank's credit administration costs, improve our credit quality, reduce our compliance risk and enhance our credit reporting. Thanks to the dedication, professionalism and diligence of the SOFGEN team, the CreditQuest project at Tropical Bank was timely and smooth; the bank now looks forward to reaping the benefits of using the system," commented Mr. Osama Serrag, Managing Director, Tropical Bank.

Tunde Oladele, Chief Executive Officer, SOFGEN Africa, remarked, "SOFGEN created an interface between the bank's core system and CreditQuest thereby facilitating a free flow of data between the two platforms and enabling Tropical Bank to take full advantage of its technology investments. SOFGEN is proud of Tropical Bank's accomplishment. The relationship we have established forms the basis of a long term partnership."
