ACH Alert announced today it has reached agreements with Columbus, Ga.-based Columbus Community Bank to provide their customers fraud protection services.

Columbus Community Bank learned about ACH Alert when a large customer expressed an interest in moving more business to the bank pending an option to enlist fraud protection services similar to what ACH Alert offered, said vice president and CFO Jeff Windham.

"We looked around and ACH Alert's fraud protection services were exactly what our customer wanted," he said. "We forwarded a link to a training video provided by ACH Alert and the customer was ready to come with us."

"Our fraud protection services have been developed and perfected to serve the next generation of fraud protection for financial institutions, their account holders and originators," said Debbie Peace, CEO, ACH Alert. "We are delighted Columbus Community Bank recognizes our fraud protection services provide them with a distinct competitive advantage."

Columbus Community Bank aims to implement ACH Alert's fraud protection services this fall.

Among the patented automated processes provided by ACH Alert to its clients are: real-time, transaction level protection for commercial and individual customers; simplified identification of trusted trading partners and valid payment recipients; and facilitation of electronic transaction disputes between the financial institution and their client.

To date ACH Alert's fraud protection system has documented its clients and their customers have deterred more than $20 million of potential fraud.

ACH Alert's fraud protection services can be implemented without significantly increasing the overhead or adding to the administrative responsibilities. It requires no systems integration since it simply inserts into the process flow.

"ACH Alert's fraud protection services are expected to have very little impact on our staff and don't cause our employees to accidentally leave out a step in the process," Windham said. "ACH Alert has good checks and balances."
